Molecular Evolution

George Perry (born April 12, 1953 in Lompoc, California) is a neuroscientist recognized in the field of Alzheimer's disease research particularly for his work in oxidative stress. Dr. Perry has studied at many universities and holds multiple degrees including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from the University of California Santa Barbara and a PhD in Marine Biology from the University of California at San Diego. He is distinguished as one of the top Alzheimer’s disease researchers with over 1000 publications, more than 60,000 citations, one of the top 100 most-cited scientists in Neuroscience & Behavior and one of the top 25 scientists in free radical research. Dr. Perry is a Semmes Foundation Distinguished chair in Neurobiology and is an active participant in many other scientific associations. In addition, Perry is an Editor of numerous scientific journals including Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease which he founded in 1998. Today, Perry continues his love for research while working as Dean of the College of Sciences at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Shailendra Saxena is a Medical Microbiologist at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in India. His main research interest is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of host defense during human viral infections. He has received many awards and honors including the Fogarty International Center, NIH (USA) MERIT Award, and named as “Global Leader in Science” by The Scientist magazine (USA) and “International Opinion Leader / Expert” involved in the vaccination for JE by IPIC (UK).

Molecular evolution, epidemiology and molecular mechanisms of host-defense during human viral infections and to develop new predictive, preventive and therapeutic strategies for them.

Professor O'Brien earned his Ph.D. in physiology and biochemistry at Marquette University in 1964 for his work on the thyroid hormone control of mitochondrial content in mammals. He discovered mitochondrial ribosomes as a Postdoctoral Fellow working with Dr. G.F. Kalf. Dr. O'Brien joined the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Florida in 1966, and has continued studies to characterize mammalian mitochondrial ribosomes. The discovery of ribosomes in mitochondria in Dr. O'Brien's laboratory foreshadowed the surprising diversity of ribosome types in nature. He was a NATO Senior Science Fellow, a European Molecular Biology Organization Research Fellow, a Visiting Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics, Berlin, Germany, and a Visiting Scientist at the University of California Santa Cruz. From 1980 to 1982 he was Interim Chairman of the Department. He was founding co-Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research at the University of Florida and he is a member of the Center for Mammalian Genetics and the Center for Structural Biology.

Discovery of ribosomes in mitochondria

Frederic Relaix is currently Full Professor at university Paris-Est (UPEC), director of the Neuroscience research department (ESPRY). Frederic Relaix is the head of a large team working on mouse embryonic development of neural crest cells and neuromuscular system, with a continuum from strong biology-centred basic science to pathophysiological research. FR has a 20 years expertise in mouse molecular embryology, environmental interactions, fundamental myogenesis, neural crest cells development, skeletal muscle stem, mouse molecular genetics, evolution and has done influential work on gene regulatory networks during embryonic development, muscle stem cells and the molecular aspects of environmental interactions with target tissues.

Professor Dr Hoda M. Elzeini has completed her PhD at the age of 37 years from Michigan State University. She is a professor in Cairo University,Faculty of Agriculture, Dairy Science Department, Cairo, Egypt. She has published more than 20 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as a reviewer for some Journals. She is teaching dairy technology and food rheology courses. She is supervising some master and doctoral thesis. She was trained in England and India to use advance rheological apparatuses

Tapash Chandra Ghosh has completed his PhD in 1991 from Kalyani University, India and postdoctoral studies from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Stazione Zoologia, Naples, Italy. He is the Senior Professor of Bioinformatics, Bose Institute, Kolkata, India, a premier research organization. He has published more than 80 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of BMC Genomics and Evolutionary Bioinformatics.

Dr. ElSayed earned his PhD in Molecular plant Biology in 2010 from the University of Bayreuth, Germany; he returned to the University of Bayreuth, Germany in 2013 for Postdoctoral work (DAAD fellowship). In 2014 he worked at Everglades Research and Education Center, University of Florida, USA as a visiting scientist. In 2015 he granted a Postdoctoral fellowship to Bielefeld University, Germany. He has published more than 20 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute. He is an Associate Professor at Zagazig University, Egypt.
